ASCENZA relies on differentiated generics to support all types of farming
Actively engaged in crop protection since 1965, ASCENZA is well-known in the differentiated generics segment in Europe. The company provides a quality product with added value, adapted to the regulatory context and market expectations.
Collectively achieve sustainable and nourishing agriculture. Deriving its name from the Latin etymology for growth, from the verb ascendere, ASCENZA enshrines in its DNA the sharing of innovation and the Mediterranean roots of its expertise. These are two strong values that the company brings into action today to meet the challenges of farmers: benefit from crop protection solutions adapted to market expectations and accessible to all.
Cultivating “off patent” products
Since 1965 ASCENZA has been supplying crop protection products in the segment of differentiated generics: generic, because the company has made the development of "off-patent" products a priority in order to facilitate access to innovation and build strong relationships with its customers; differentiated, because each farmer deserves to have quality products thanks to an expertise of their own formulation.
"Bringing new off-patent solutions with added value for our clients is at the core of what we develop", explains Rui Correia, Central Marketing Director. "The breadth and the scalability of our portfolio are two key competitive advantages in dealing with new regulatory challenges in the EU. We will keep investing to bring differentiation to the market." As the leader of this segment on the Iberian Peninsula, today ASCENZA is forging the pillar of crop protection for the Rovensa group.
A multidisciplinary know-how
As a licensee with specific formulations, ASCENZA remains truly independent in the markets in which it operates. This independence is reflected in its expertise, with a real, internal to the company multidisciplinary know-how: technical, regulatory, industrial, legal... Today, ASCENZA employs more than 600 people and is present in ten countries in Europe and Latin America: France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Brazil and Mexico.
Conventional products and biological substances
Each year, ASCENZA invests 9% of its revenue in R&D. Its range includes 90 conventional protection and bioprotection products. Thus the company combines conventional chemistry and natural substances, in order to offer farmers sustainable combinatorial solutions in a context of regulatory change and scarcity of available solutions. Its Mediterranean roots are an additional asset in the search for specific solutions for adaptation. For its formulations, ASCENZA can rely on its manufacturing site located in Portugal, as well as on its recognised expertise and quality of production.
The scope and flexibility of ASCENZA´s product range are essential in order to meet regulatory and environmental challenges: innovative and balanced solutions to assist all farmers and support a healthy and sustainable food system.
